Editorially Speaking: The “Modern Church”

By Allan Turner

The modern church is little more than an intellectual and spiritual disaster area. Adultery and divorce, epidemic in modern society, are now running rampant within its corridors. Many young members of the modern church are marrying and divorcing for all the wrong reasons. They are not choosing mates because they will help them serve God and go to heaven; instead, they marry for worldly, selfish motives. Such marriages are destined for much unhappiness and even divorce. But instead of modern preachers preaching against these things, all we hear from them are the shibboleths of moral softness. The Indwelling Of The Holy Spirit (Part IV)

The Evolving Doctrine of Mary: A Response, Counter-Response, and Challenge

By John Salza, Catholic Apologist and Randy Blackaby, Gospel Preacher

In the September 2005 edition of this magazine, Randy Blackaby wrote a very informative article entitled “The Evolving Doctrine of Mary: A Case Study in the Progress of Error.” John Salza, a Catholic apologist, author, et cetera, wrote a challenging response to that article, which is published here, with a reply from Randy. At the end of this response, a challenge is presented to Mr. Salza to defend his beliefs in a public debate. We are very happy to make Salza’s response, Blackaby’s counter-response and debate challenge available to our readers in this venue. To read them, click here.

Gender & Worship (Conclusion)

By Allan Turner

In this fifth and concluding article, Allan continues to argue there are serious differences over the role of women in public worship, along with the part they are to play in church leadership. To read his concluding remarks, click here.

Why Genesis Matters (Part V)

By Doy Moyer

In this fifth in a series of articles on the importance of the book of Genesis, Doy continues to explain why Genesis matters when it comes to developing and maintaining a genuine biblical worldview. To read this installment, click here.

The Church Without Laity (Part II)

By Allan Turner

The church purchased with the precious blood of Jesus Christ is unique (cf. Acts 20:28). It is most unfortunate that it remains a church unknown to most. It is, astoundingly, a church without laity, and it is this feature that Allan will be focusing on in this series of articles. To read the second installment in this series, click here.
